- Attend the class(es) online during the times listed. You will not be given credit for the course(s) if you are not present on the zoom call.
- You must be a RN to attend the CNA Instructor Course and CMT Instructor Course
- You must be a RN or LPN to attend the Clinical Supervisor Course
- You must fill out and/or submit the required documents to MHCA as outlined under each course below

Information/Requirements
This state-required and MO Department of Health & Senior Services-approved workshop is designed to prepare registered and licensed nurses to supervise nurse assistant students during their required on-the-job experience.
Criteria for a Clinical Supervisor:
- Registered professional nurse or a licensed practical nurse currently licensed in MO or have a temporary permit from the MO State Board of Nursing
- Currently employed by the facility where the students are performing their duties or by the agency conducting the course
- Shall be on facility premises in which the students are performing their duties while the students are completing on-the-job training and shall directly assist students in their training and observe their skills when checking competencies
- The clinical supervisor shall have at least one (1) year of experience in long term care if not currently employed by a long term care facility
- You must fill out the Instructor/Clinical Supervisor Missouri State Registry Form

Shellie Goodin, RN, MSN, MBA – Shellie Goodin has practiced nursing since 1994. She graduated from the University of MO Columbia earning a BSN and Clarkson College earning a MSN. She also earned her MBA in Health Care Management from William Woods University. She has worked in the areas of long-term care, rehabilitation, surgical, dialysis, and obstetrics. She has joined the staff at MHCA as the Director of Clinical and Quality Services. She retired after 26 years as an instructor for Nichols Career Center in Jefferson City, MO, where she served in Practical Nursing and Health Science Education. She taught UAP classes for University Hospital for approximately 10 years and serves as a Content Expert in Health Science Areas for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. She has been active in CNA education for the Department of Health and Senior Services and is a test observer for TMU (Headmaster).

Information/Requirements
This state-required and Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services approved CNA Instructor workshop is designed to prepare RNs to instruct nursing assistant students for long term care facilities in Missouri.
Upon completion, the attendee will be able to:
- Identify Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services and Department of Elementary and Secondary Education requirements and regulations for the Nursing Assistant training
- Develop skills in principles of adult education and counseling for adult learning techniques
- Utilize appropriate testing methods
- Determine appropriate curriculum
- List requirements of examination and registration process
- Increase stand up skills
- Share experiences and ideas with other RN Instructors to increase effectiveness in training
- Student will also be certified as a Clinical Supervisor upon completion and payment for the CNA Instructor course.
CNA Instructor criteria:
- Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Missouri
- Two (2) years of nursing experience and at least one (1) year of experience in a long term care facility in the last five (5) years

Information/Requirements
This state-required and MO Dept of Health & Senior Services approved workshop is designed to prepare RNs to instruct Medication Technician students for long term care facilities in MO. Upon completion, attendees will be able to Identify MO Dept of Health & Senior Services and Dept of Elementary & Secondary Education requirements and regulations for the Medication Technician training, utilize appropriate testing methods, determine appropriate curriculum, list requirements of examination and registration process. In order to receive a certificate of attendance, you must attend the entire workshop.
Criteria for CMT Instructor:
- Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of MO with at least two (2) years experience
- Shall meet state certification requirements
- Be responsible to a sponsoring education agency: area vocational school, comprehensive high school, community or junior college
- You must fill out the Instructor/Clinical Supervisor Missouri State Registry Form and the Agreement with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Division of Regulation and Licensure, Section for Long-Term Care Regulation
- You must also submit a copy of your approval letter (click here for a sample copy) to take this course
- Submit a copy of your originating license to MHCA. A copy of your license can be found here.
- Click here to submit your registry form, DHSS Agreement, originating license, and approval letter back to MHCA prior to attending this course

Instructors
Maureen Purdy, RN – Maureen Purdy has practiced nursing since 1988. She was a Navy Hospital Corpsman as a LVN for four years. She then graduated from Lincoln University with her ADN. She has worked in the areas of dialysis, hospice, ICU, OB, medical/surgical, and long-term care. Over the last several years she has focused on long-term care education. She also has ELDA certification, CMT instructor, BLS instructor, CNA instructor, Level 1 and Insulin instructor. She is currently the DON at Heisinger Bluffs Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She is a CMT instructor for Eldon Career Center, and is a test observer for TMU (Headmaster).

Cancellations/Refunds
Requests for cancellation and refunds MUST be emailed to Karina Schnieders, karina@mohealthcare.com, within 24-hours of the start of the course. No refunds will be provided if you cancel the day of the course or are a no-show.
