Nationals Skilled Nursing Care Week
”Tapestry of Life” Announced as Theme for National Skilled Nursing Care Week
National observance takes place May 11–17, 2025
AHCA is pleased to announce “Tapestry of Life” as the theme for this year’s National Skilled Nursing Care Week® (NSNCW), which will kick off on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11.
About the Theme
Tapestry of Life highlights the meaningful stories that make up each person’s journey in skilled nursing care. From residents and families to caregivers and staff, everyone adds a unique thread that is woven into this vibrant tapestry. This theme celebrates the connections, resilience and strength that unite us all.
Established by AHCA in 1967, NSNCW starts each year on Mother’s Day and encourages skilled nursing care centers around the country to host a variety of events that shine a light on the individuals who reside, work, and volunteer in nursing centers while adhering to infection control requirements.
Be sure to share with us your stories, pictures, videos and/or how YOU plan on celebrating by tagging us at @NationalSkilledNursingCareWeek on all AHCA social platforms including our NSNCW Facebook channel using the hashtag #NSNCW.

National Assisted Living Week
“Ageless Adventure” Revealed as the Theme of National Assisted Living Week
National observance takes place September 7-13, 2025
NCAL revealed Ageless Adventure as this year’s theme for National Assisted Living Week®. The annual, national observance –sponsored by PharMerica in 2025 – provides a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and local communities to celebrate the individuals who live and work in assisted living and to learn more about this sector of long term care.
“There is an inherent desire for experience and adventure no matter what stage of life someone happens to be in,” said NCAL Executive Director LaShuan Bethea. “Assisted living utilizes person-centered care to support residents through their different ideas of adventure, allowing us to honor them in an exciting and unique way.”
Established by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 1995, National Assisted Living Week® provides a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and the surrounding communities to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. The annual observance encourages assisted living communities around the country to offer a variety of events and activities to celebrate the individuals they serve, as well as to help educate members of the public about this distinctive aspect of long term care.
The Ageless Adventure logo is available for download, and a variety of promotional materials for assisted living communities, stakeholders, and members of the public are now offered on the NALW website. Official NALW products, including themed gifts, giveaways, and decorations, will be available soon. In the coming months, NCAL will issue a planning guide to help celebrate Ageless Adventure. Participants should share their celebrations throughout the week on social media with the hashtag #NALW. Visit www.nalw.org for updated information and resources and to learn more about this year’s sponsor.
