”Moments in Bloom” Announced as Theme for National Skilled Nursing Care Week
National observance takes place May 10–16, 2026
AHCA is pleased to announce “Moments in Bloom” as the theme for this year’s National Skilled Nursing Care Week® (NSNCW), which will kick off on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10.
About the Theme
“Moments in Bloom” reflects how everyday acts of compassion, connection, and teamwork grow into meaningful experiences for residents, families, and staff. It celebrates the idea that big and small moments, when nurtured, can flourish to help residents live life to the fullest and with purpose.
Established by AHCA in 1967, NSNCW starts each year on Mother’s Day and encourages skilled nursing care centers around the country to host a variety of events that shine a light on the individuals who reside, work, and volunteer in nursing centers while adhering to infection control requirements.
Be sure to share with us your stories, pictures, videos and/or how YOU plan on celebrating by tagging us at @NationalSkilledNursingCareWeek on all AHCA social platforms including our NSNCW Facebook channel using the hashtag #NSNCW.

National Assisted Living Week
National Assisted Living Week
National observance will take place in September 2026.
Established by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 1995, National Assisted Living Week® provides a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and the surrounding communities to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. The annual observance encourages assisted living communities around the country to offer a variety of events and activities to celebrate the individuals they serve, as well as to help educate members of the public about this distinctive aspect of long term care.
Participants should share their celebrations throughout the week on social media with the hashtag #NALW. Visit www.nalw.org for updated information and resources and to learn more about this year’s sponsor.
