Nursing Home Administrator
As a not-for-profit entity, organized within a Christian environment, the Nursing Home Administrator is to be a person of high moral character; never been convicted of a felony; display sound Christian values; devoted to the caring of the elderly; conduct themselves in a manner which reflects the principles and goals of Luther Manor Retirement and Nursing Center.
Reports to: Board of Directors of Luther Manor Retirement and Nursing Center
Job Duties:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the facility and keep the organization on track for its long-term goals and mission
- Coordinate and provide leadership to each clinical, managerial, and custodial team, and ensure that they work together effectively
- Coordinate hiring, training, supervising and discharging of staff and employees at every level with Human Resources
- Ensure the facility operates in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure residents’ individual care plans are being followed
- Provide regular safety and compliance training
- Make recommendations to and update procedural and policy manuals
- Create and maintain a budget with coordination of Board of Directors
- Oversee billing and set fees with coordination of Board of Directors
- Be fiscally responsible for the financial integrity of operating income & expenses
- Preserve Investment Portfolios for future long term capital projects, facilities expansion, etc.
- Provide appropriate monthly financial reports and make business recommendations to the Board of Directors to keep them informed and up-to-date in the best interests of the organization, the life of the residents and working conditions of the employees prior to the board meeting.
- Act as the ‘face’ of the organization to the governing board, the public, and residents’ families; and as a liaison between staff, residents and families
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field, prefer Masters of Health Administration (MHA) or Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare Management
- Have specialized training in the areas of health and gerontology
- Possess or be able to obtain a current Missouri Nursing Home Administrator License
- Have a minimum of three years’ experience in the senior living, nursing home or healthcare fields
- Accrue 150 continuous education credits every 5 years
