How does your Antibiotic Stewardship Program measure up? Many care centers are in the early stages of implementing their Antibiotic Stewardship Programs and are asking two key questions---are we compliant and how do we know it’s working?  Clinical Consultant Pharmacist, Bethany Bramwell, will review the current regulations and guidance for Antibiotic Stewardship and discuss methods to measure program outcomes. Participants will have an opportunity to self-assess their current program for both regulatory compliance as well as efficacy of their selected interventions. Common barriers and challenges to the implementation of an Antibiotic Stewardship Program will be discussed and participants will be introduced to seven pillars of an effective, efficient, and enduring program.

Speaker: Bethany Bramwell is the Director of Clinical Services for Guardian Pharmacy of Missouri, overseeing the provision of Clinical Pharmacists’ Services for partner Long-Term Care facilities across Central and Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas. She serves as a preceptor for 6th-year UMKC pharmacy students and her current projects include developing Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs in Skilled Nursing Facilities with a focus on identifying drivers of inappropriate antibiotic prescribing.
