Due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, the Social Service Designee Workshop that

was scheduled for April 27-30, 2020 in Jefferson City, MO has been CANCELLED

MHCA wants to ensure we are taking every precaution to keep you and the residents of long term care communities safe. 


This workshop will not be rescheduled, however we do offer an online course as an alternative.

$225 per person


Participants in this 36-hour course will receive training and insight to working in the Social Service department of a long term care facility.  This course will discuss the philosophy of long term care, the settings in which a Social Service Designee works and the demographics of the people they serve.  Students will learn the aging process, the performance skills of the Social Service Designee and understand the role and function of this position.  Upon successful completion, attendees will have met the requirements as outlined in the MO Dept of Health & Senior Services rules and regulations.

Cheryl Parsons -Cheryl Parsons is a registered nurse, LTC administrator, former skilled facility owner, author, LTC consultant, speaker and informal dispute resolution reviewer. She has over 36 years of combined nursing, administration, ownership and consulting experience in the industry and has received awards in recognition of her accomplishments & dedication to improving LTC.


Certificate of Attendance

In order to receive a certificate, you must attend the entire workshop.  Upon successful completion a certificate will be mailed to the facility or individual that paid for the course.  Certificates cannot be issued until full payment is received.
