The Federal Review Course for Nursing Home Administrators Exam is to help attendee prepare for the nursing home administrator federal licensure exam. Review Course material have been revised and updated to reflect the structure of the current examination.

The purpose of the Review Course is to help attendees prepare for the nursing home administrator federal licensure exam. Theoretical, philosophical and practical aspects of long term care administration are discussed. The instructor will review sample test questions from the study book, which is provided free to all attendees. Study tips will be suggested throughout the workshop, therefore it is recommended that attendees allow sufficient time to study on their own after attending the review course before sitting for the exam. Review course materials have been revised and updated to reflect the structure of the current examination. Prior to the workshop, it is essential the attendee understands concepts and principles involved in the long term care industry. Individuals who intend to take the licensure exam must first apply with the Missouri Board of Nursing Home Administrators (573-751-3511).

- Mona Dortch, RN – Mona is a licensed nursing home administrator and has taught seminars on a variety of long term care topics including mock surveys & Medicare training throughout the US.
Recommended Textbook
The book, Principles of Health Care Administration, is used as a basis for much of the course material dealing with the federal portion of the exam. Textbooks are available through Professional Printing & Publishing (online at www.ppandp.com) or for purchase from MHCA. A limited number of books will be available for purchase onsite at each workshop.

Purpose
This virtual workshop will look at the RAI process from beginning to end and at each item of the MDS. The MDS is used for both a clinical and a financial assessment and will discuss the rules on scheduling these assessments and meeting the clinical & financial requirements. This includes a basic understanding of PDPM and how it correlates within the RAI process. This virtual workshop reviews how to gain access to and read the MDS reports from CASPER to self-audit your RAI process and look at your QMs. This workshop is designed for the MDS Coordinator and Care Plan Coordinator, or for the DON or ADM who needs a better understanding of the complexity of the RAI Process.

Purpose
This virtual workshop will review the SNF QRP reports from CASPER that provides information about the Medicare Part A stays in your SNF. It will also explore factors impacting SNF PPS assessment schedule, PDPM basics, and consolidating billing that can impact the financial facet of the facility. It also explains Medicare eligibility, coverage, and skilling criteria. The completion of the MDS is becoming more difficult and confusing, this workshop will help clear up the confusion surrounding this process. This workshop is geared towards those individuals working in long‐term care who have a leadership role such as ADM, DON, ADON, or MDS Coordinator.

This session is designed for both individuals new to their role in ICD-10 coding and those who have some experience but need to further their ICD-10 coding knowledge.
In this 2-day workshop, attendees will:
- Review ICD-10 CM basics including navigating ICD-10 coding books.
- Review ICD-10 coding guidelines.
- Review using documentation to support ICD-10 coding.
- Review of selection of principal/primary diagnosis
- Examine PDPM specifics including clinical categories, SLP and NTA comorbidities and mapping.
- Discuss how to apply coding guidelines to long-term care specific coding scenarios to select appropriate diagnoses.

Chris has worked at large and mid-sized health care facilities in many roles where she gained a thorough understanding of health information management. Her coding career includes working in hospitals as both an employee and a consultant. Her work with Skilled Nursing Facilities includes medical record compliance reviews and ICD-10 coding support, audits and education. She helped author education programs for ICD-10 coding in preparation for PDPM and has served as an instructor for ICD-10 education.

Both are Leadership Coaches for skilled nursing facilities in Missouri with the QIPMO program. Started in 1999, the Quality Improvement Program for Missouri (QIPMO), is a cooperative service between the MU Sinclair School of Nursing and the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services.

Pre-registration is required for all workshops. Payment/registration must be received by noon the day before the workshop begins. Company checks are money orders should be made payable to MHCA. Credit card payments are accepted, we accept Visa, MasterCard & American Express. We do offer a billing option for MHCA Members only. We do not accept personal checks.
Cancellations/Refunds
Refunds will be issued to registrants who cancel in writing within 48 hours of the workshop. Cancellations received after this time and no-shows will be charged the full registration fee.
