MHCA Grassroots Advocacy
Share |

Every year, your MHCA government affairs team works diligently in the State Capitol and even at the national level, speaking to policy makers and drafting much-needed healthcare policies. Having our legislators well versed in the daily operations of skilled nursing facilities is vital to our progress and success. Your government affairs team is just part of the equation.  We need you – our members – to help educate legislators.  Your story is what will make the difference.  Developing a relationship with your legislator can make a difference in whether legislation gets through the General Assembly.   Invite your legislators to your facility for a tour or for an event such as Nursing Home Week or a birthday celebration for a resident turning 100 years old.  Your participation can be something as simple as a tweet to your legislator or as involved as MHCA Lobby Day in March. Whatever your level of participation, we need you to be part of our team.

MHCA stands ready to assist you.  And now we ask you to Stand with MHCA!  Another legislative session is here and we have a big fight ahead of us. If you have attended the town halls around the state you understand the devastating results of the budget cuts from last year and we need your help now more than ever to get these cuts restored.

Text NURSINGHOME to 52886 or click HERE to sign up to receive updates that will allow you to take action when we need you the most!  Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to join the fight.

Please share this with your residents, families, employees, community members, and anyone else who would be willing to join us in this fight. The commitment is easy, we just want to be able to contact you to reach out to your legislator via email, or text. This advocacy will be whatever you are most comfortable with and we will supply all of the scripts and templates if you choose to use them. It is imperative that you sign up; we can not have a successful campaign without the help of our membership. Thank you for helping us, our most vulnerable citizens depend on you.
