Course Description:

This session will focus on a comprehensive review of the Phase 2 Requirements of Participation (RoP) related to the annual facility assessment. The content focuses on helping nursing staff understand the new regulations and interpretive guidance related to the facility assessment. Strategies for completing and analyzing information from the facility assessment to ensure adequate resources are provided to meet the needs of the population will be discussed.

At the conclusion of this webinar, the learner will:

  • Describe the new regulations related to the facility assessment and the key actions required to achieve compliance
  • Describe the process for establishing priority actions to achieve compliance with the facility assessment
  • Understand how to use the facility assessment to ensure resources are deployed effectively to meet the needs of the population served

Shelly Maffia, MSN, MBA, RN, LNHA, QCP

Director of Regulatory Services for Proactive Medical Review & Consulting, with over 15 years of leadership and consulting experience, Shelly has held positions as DON, NHA, Corporate Nurse Consultant, and Training Positions.  Currently Shelly provides consultation on regulatory compliance to nursing facilities in multiple states.  Her expertise includes developing clinical training tools, policies, procedures, protocols and training programs on systems, processes and best practices.  Shelly is also a QAPI Certified Professional (QCP) through the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators.
